Twelve Days of Christmas - Day 7

We are on our seventh day of the Twelve Days of Christmas unit. We learned that seven swans swimming represented the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We began our lesson with the coloring sheets that the kids love so much. I have been surprised that even Kaleb is coloring these with care.

Kaleb is working on his bag book page.

I made a simple puzzle with the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. This will go into his bag book pocket. I can't wait to show you how great it is coming together!

J decided she wanted to work on the puzzle herself. We discussed each of the gifts and their meanings while she was attempting this puzzle.

Kaleb is working on his swan ornament - idea from Mom to Two Posh Divas (link below).

Kaleb's finished work for day 7 - his gifts of the Spirit puzzle, the bag book pages, his coloring sheet, and his swan ornament.

J's finished projects for day 7 - coloring sheet, my true love hearts (in my free printable), gifts for her lap book, and her swan ornament.

We are over half way there and I am truly pleased with the way this unit is coming together. I love the  12 days of Christmas tree and the kids are loving the crafts and such. See you soon.

Twelve Days of Christmas - day 6

We are in our sixth day of The Twelve Days of Christmas unit. We have been studying the 12 days of Christmas and the meaning behind the song. The sixth day represents the six days of creation.

Kaleb is working on his six geese a-laying coloring sheet. This will go into his pocket of his bag book.

J colored a mini book about the days of creation. We have studies the days before but this was a good reminder. This free book came from Imagination Nook (link below).

Kaleb is working on the creation circle book that I printed at 50 percent. This will also go into his bag book pocket.

Kaleb painted his goose ornament with water colors. I drew this on card stock but I based it on a a paper plate craft that I found.

J worked on her goose ornament while I read from our many chapter books. She has loved sewing these ornaments and she will have a wonderful keepsake when she is older.

J's finished work for the sixth day - her mini creation book, her book for the lap book, her coloring sheet, and her finished ornament.

Kaleb's finished work for the sixth day - his coloring sheet, mini book on creation, bag book pages, a creation matching game, and his ornament.

Their finished ornaments for our homeschool tree. It really is starting to take shape. Only six days more to go. Have a great one:)

Jingle Returns

Our elf on a shelf has returned from the North Pole and he is up to his old tricks again. I just thought I would share a few photos of his week.

He raided our left over Halloween candy and wrote that he's back with Skittles.

The next night, he raided my ribbon and decorated my tree. Kaleb thought it was an improvement and has asked me to keep up the ribbon.

He decided to take a bath in my laundry room. He brought some rubber ducks for the kids' baths.

This is my favorite, so far. He decided to try to be Evil Knievel and jump some cars on a motorcycle. Kaleb loved this crazy one. He went in to check on Jingle multiple times and thought it was great.

Well, after his antics of trying to jump the cars, it looks like he was somewhat unsuccessful. He ended  up in bed with casts on his arm and his leg as well as a bandage on his head. Maybe he will take it easy:) Enjoy your day.

Just wanted to share my five dollar wreath:) I think it turned out pretty cute. I found all items except the Christmas scarf at the Dollar Store. The scarf came from a thrift store. I spray painted the wreaths with white sparkle paint, added the joy ornament and the Santa hat. Not too bad for a quick decoration for my door.

Twelve Days of Christmas - free printable

Currently, we are working on a Christmas bible study for the month of December - the Twelve Days of Christmas and we are using the book The 12 Days of Christmas by Helen Haidle. For each day of Christmas, both kids are making an ornament for our homeschool tree. J is working on a lap book that I found at Homeschool Share and Kaleb is working on a bag book. To work along with our study, I made a free printable.

The first part of my free printable are the labels for the bag book. Print them out and add to the opposite sides of the bag book. They are programmed with the meaning of each day of Christmas.

Next, if your child does not want to make an ornament for each day, either sewing or crafting, there is a Twelve Days banner. Each day can be colored as they learn, placed on a string or ribbon, and hung to review. It would make a cute addition to your decorations.

Lastly, I wanted to offer a tree topper for your child to color and add to your tree. Just add a loop to attach to the top of your tree. Hope these printables will help in your 12 days of Christmas study. I hope that you enjoy it as much as we have. See you soon.

Twelve Days of Christmas Unit - day 5

We are currently our the fifth day of our Twelve Days of Christmas study using this book by Helen Haidle. We learned that five golden rings represent the Torah - the first five books of the bible.

Kaleb worked on his coloring sheet while I read from our chapter books.

This ornament was somewhat hard to find a pattern to sew. Instead, she made golden rings from card stock, jewels, and snowflake stickers.

Kaleb is working on his rings.

Kaleb's finished items - five gold rings for the tree, his bag book page, and his coloring page. On each of the rings, I wrote the name of each of the books for the Torah.

J's finished items - the coloring page, the mini book for her lap book, and her five gold rings for the tree.

J also made a tree topper for our 12 days of Christmas tree. We discussed what would be a good topper and J decided that a heart with "My True Love" on it would be good.

"My True Love" represents God and He is at the top of our tree. Pretty cute.

Our 12 Days of Christmas tree - it is coming along nicely, I think. The kids are enjoying our Christmas unit. I am glad I didn't take the easy way out :) See you soon.
