It seems like things are getting even more hectic the closer we get to summer. Tot Tuesday is on Thursday this week because of the holiday and my struggle to keep my head above water lately. My DH has done a tremendous amount of work at my parents' house - he is not one who likes to sit around. He has worked on the yard, planted a great container garden, and even opened the pool. Every day that he is outside, my tot is outside following him around. Whether he is playing in the dirt or swimming in the pool, he is not far from his Daddy. This day, after working in the yard, they decided to have a picnic in the yard.
I love his Cheetos smile!
This will be a place to share details of my life, my homeschooling, and my crafts in a foreign country.

PQR Review Pack
I finally broke down and finished another alphabet review pack for the letters PQR. This has been on my to-do list for awhile and I am glad it is completed so I may move on to another project. My goal is to have all review packs done before the summer is through so they can be used for the next tot-school year. Some of the activities included are:
Strip puzzles to cover review for both letters and numbers.
Letter tile activities to practice number words.
Clothespin cards to practice the alphabet and counting.
Sight word puzzles.
Hope this printable pack is helpful with your tot school. I would love to hear from you if you download.

Wheel School - T is for Train
I have been working hard on finishing the Wheel School printable schedules and games. I am also working on other units for the summer and the new school year. After taking a break, I am ready to move on. Yay! So, this week I am offering the next installment of Wheel School - T is for Train - for your plans.
The printable game included this week is a number train. There are a variety of ways you can use this. Have your tot put the train in number order counting by ones or even twos. Place passengers (any kind of counter that you have available) on the train cars to learn one-to-one correspondence. Place the train in number order with missing cars and have your tot find the correct car. Hide the train cars around the yard or house and have your tot find them and put them in order. These are just a few ideas to use with the number train. If you have any others, I would love to hear from you. Enjoy.
There is a full week of train plans and I am sure you will be able to find other projects as well. Kids love trains, my tot included.

Tot Tuesday
Recently, I noticed that every time I put Kaleb's shoes on, his toes were wearing out. I couldn't figure it out. I knew he didn't drag his feet while he walked. We were outside one day and I discovered what he was doing.
Kaleb loves his ride on toys. He has several of them, having not moved to pedal toys yet. He gets on them, pushes his legs so fast, and uses his shoes to slow him down. Actually, he uses the toes of his shoes to slow himself down.
Every pair of sneakers have the toes blown out. It doesn't matter if they are the cheap kind from Wal-Mart or the more expensive kind from Kohl's. Toes are gone. This boy is hard on his shoes. I can't keep him in them. I even had a pair designated for church so, at least when we went - he wouldn't look like an orphan. But even that pair got into the play shoe mix and, now, no church sneakers. I am off to buy him another pair of sneakers and, hopefully, we can keep these for at least a month. Do they make steel-toe shoes for boys? I might be willing to invest in them :)

Wheel School - S is for Semi
The next installment for Wheel School is finally ready! S is for Semi Truck. I apologize for the lateness in finishing these plans. Life kinda got in the way. But I am working on completing them soon. Thanks for your patience.
The game I included in the S is for Semi Truck is a matching game. Match the letters/numbers on the cabs to the correct pictures on the trailers.
This game would be great if you print, laminate, and add magnets for a magnet board review game. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Enjoy.

Ready to Return
It has been a little over a month since my blog break. My mother had knee surgery and she is recovering well. I was blessed to be able to stay home with my mother and help her through this time. In between therapy, laundry, cooking, and such, we did manage to keep up with our school schedule (as difficult as it was). We have been busy with many activities, thanks to my DH.
One of my wishes while we are in the states was to have a garden. I feel like a garden will be a great learning experience and my DH has made it possible.
My DH made four garden boxes to use in our yard. Kaleb was a true trooper. He spent the days out in the yard shoveling the dirt and compost into the boxes. He loved playing in the dirt and being with his Daddy.
J will help me with the weeding and watering. She mainly tried to stay out of the way of the caterpillars that were roaming around our yard. She found one on her sleeve and had a fit. (city girl, huh?)

There has been tons of yard work, opening of the family pool, and lots of play outside. I love being here. My parents have a great big yard and lots of room to play. I am glad they have the chance to enjoy the outdoors. We are looking forward to plenty of fresh veggies and I am looking forward to the learning experiences that the kids will have with this garden (bugs included).
