We learned about Sacagawea this week. We read a few books about that amazing woman. She worked on a paper doll that I found from Education.com (link below).
We discussed all of the modes of transportation that Lewis and Clark used during their trip. She created a mini book including those modes.
We talked about the financial situation of the journey. It was thought that the trip would cost $2,500 but we discovered the true cost. It cost $38,722! That is quite a difference.
We also discussed what the Louisiana Purchase did for the U.S. It doubled our size and removed France from North America as a foreign power. It was interesting to learn about Thomas Jefferson and his vision for the United States. All of the mini books that she is working on will be placed into the lap book when we are finished. Hope you have an awesome weekend.
