Jedi Reading - ET Word Family with free printable
We are moving on with the Jedi Reading program that I have been working on with my kindergartener, Kaleb. Kaleb wasn't quite ready to learn to read but he had already learned all of his letters and sounds. So, instead of putting reading off for a year, I created a small reading program that focuses on word families. This week, Kaleb focused on the ET word family.
Kaleb practiced the words by reading the word cards and covering the word with a counter chip.
He made his words with the linking word blocks. I love using these, they definitely make learning how to read "hands-on."
He matched the words with the pictures using a free worksheet that I found from Polka Dots Please (link below).
He worked on a word search, finding the ET word family words. This came from Kindergarten Works (link below).
As a review, every day, Kaleb reads the words from the word sliders. They have just about all of the word families that we have worked on so far.
Another hands-on activity, he makes the words using the magnetic letters. I try to include all kinds of activities that will engage him to learn the word families. HE works well with this type of learning. If you would like to download the Jedi Reading file, link is below. Hope you have an awesome day.
