Gingerbread Baby
As part of our winter book study, we decided to work with The Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett. We definitely had fun reading all of the gingerbread books we could find! Here are a few of the activities we accomplished...
I found some items that I made for my Gingerbread Tot bag - I rescued them from overseas. He played with the puppet that I brought home.
He dressed the gingerbread.
HE worked on a free sheet about if he was the gingerbread boy and what he wanted running after him - a dog.
We read every version of the gingerbread boy from our library.
He worked on -an and -at words. He sorted the word cards to the correct house.
He followed the directions for the ordinal numbers. He has been working on ordinal numbers in math and this was a great review.
He rolled the gingerbread cube and graphed the results. He like this throwing of dice and graphing activity.
He made his own gingerbread family - a gingerbread person to represent each one of us. He also wrote the names of each person on them himself! I hung these from our big front window.
After our family dinner, we decorated gingerbread cookies. We may have used a whole tub of icing - it was good fun and a lot of sugar! All links for each activity and more are below. Have an awesome day.
